More people, more Spanish, more charades

We have just finished up our 5th day of having the food pantry open.   As of today, we have served just over 20 families (some have come more than once) from this area.  I am amazed at the opportunity we have here to love on everyone who comes to our home.  We feel blessed beyond words!

We are seeing quite a few folks who only speak Spanish.  (There have been some moments of pure comedy.) We need translators!  God has not yet blessed us with the gift of the Spanish tongue…so until then, if you speak Spanish and you just don’t know what to do on Tuesdays from 4-8:00, we could use your help!  Please contact me if you’d like to volunteer.

Many of you have asked what types of food/non-food items are most popular.  Now we can tell you!!

Here is a small list of items that we are getting low in.

  • canned fruit
  • boxed cereal
  • refried beans
  • bagged beans
  • bagged rice
  • tortillas
  • vegetable oil
  • Bisquick

We also have a few items that we do not need ANY MORE of….green beans and corn.  I think we could feed a small army with the amount we have. 🙂

As for Tuesdays, in general, we are having a great time!  There have been many humbling moments, God moments, praying, receiving, giving, talking and working.  We’re praying for more workers, more vision of the Kingdom of God, and more revelation of His Love.

Keep praying for our family, that His Light would outshine our imperfections and that He would be glorified!
